Fire destroys Oliver church by pinched bag incident
A Clark county church near Oliver burned two weeks ago. Initial reports blamed an incendiary but investigators now say a pinched bag with matches sparked the blaze. The fire caused the structure to burn and papers nearby were destroyed. John W. Burnett and wife, visiting relatives near Providence church, returned from Kansas and noted the Sullivan area in their letters. Burnett subscribed for the Union to mail to his brother-in-law in Cedar Point Kansas.
