Rural Carrier Badly Damaged In Bridge Accident
Levi Willis, rural route five carrier, was thrown from his wagon when a horse fell through a bridge in Cass township on the Sullivan route. Big Race Meeting Opens at Fair Grounds Next Wednesday

Bonds Sold to Finance Indianapolis Southern Railway
The entire $5,000,000 Indianapolis Southern Railway bond issue was sold to New York bankers, enabling construction to proceed toward a Switz City connection with the Illinois Central. President D. M. Parry said the line would be built with quality materials and linked to the Illinois Central at no city cost, with 1500 additional workers as tunnels complicate progress. At the Terre Haute old boys reunion last week the Farmersburg couple G. W. Allen and Eliza Allen won the premium for oldest married pair. Married April 6, 1847, they have been married for over 57 years and Mr. Allen, age 87, also took the prize for oldest attendee. Other awards went to Chicago for largest delegation and Deila Stewart Scott from Manchester, England for traveling the greatest distance.

Obituary: Gertrude Colescott Dies at Sullivan
Gertrude Colescott born February 24 1884 in Terre Haute died August 19 1904 in Sullivan. She lived at Rose Orphans Home after 1890 then with John Lamb from 1892 until her marriage about four years ago. Survived by infant daughter and brother Ralph Colescott of St Louis and uncle John Colescott of Welman Illinois.
