Members of the Baptist denomination living in Farmersburg and nearby met in Brown's hall to organize a Baptist church. Rev. A M McGuire was chosen moderator and J V Barbre clerk, with about forty attending. Plans include letters of admission, weekly meetings, and a possible Evangelist Lehigh series.

In Indiana State University’s first annual senior class oratorical, Clyde Cleveland of Carlisle won first honors on the topic Russia Before and After the War. Other speakers included J C R McAfee of Louisville John Ogden Orville Hickman and Ira L Wildermuth.

James Roll 21 and his confederate Norval Jackson are jailed in Terre Haute awaiting trial for grand larceny. They confessed stealing three suitcases from Pullman cars at the Big Four depot and valuables including a Mystic Shrine Masonic emblem. Roll, from St Louis, had worked for Prox and Brinkman plumbers.

Mrs Anna Beckett Dies After Prolonged Illness
Mrs. Anna L Beckett died Saturday morning at 6 in the home of her daughter Mrs O M Patton in Sullivan after several weeks illness. Funeral held Monday at Bethel Methodist Hymera with Rev N M Denney officiating. Interment Bethel cemetery. She was widow of Joshua Beckett and daughter of Isaac Biddle aged 90. Survived by two sons Otto Beckett and Vernon Beckett and two daughters Mrs Patton and Mrs Viskniskki. Stepdaughter Mrs Cora Barnett. Cousin John Biddle attended the bedside. Born March 33 1847 in Carleton Ky. Last May fell ill in Hymera then brought to Sullivan. Ear diseases noted with ad for Dr Crowley and Union Depot event on Nov 2.
