Sullivan county quail protection debate prompts five year ban
Game Commissioner Miles clarifies fishing laws and dispels a misinterpretation. Farmers push for a five year quail ban to curb extermination amid hawk predation and harsh winters. Some oppose length, while landowners resist leasing for hunting and foreign incursions. Miles seeks steady restoration funds via city fisherman programs and reiterates no extra license needed for county residents under 21.
