The big producer BE R Riggs struck the Tom Bates farm in Gill township triggering a new oil boom in Sullivan County. Riggs plans full lease development with a large crew in the county’s west part as leases are taken broadly. In Turman township Albert Poe lease No 2 was drilled Friday by Terre Haute owners Carson Hamill and partners, reaching about 100 barrels from a 682 foot well with ten feet of sand.

Jury fails to reach verdict in Malpractice case
