Davis Gambling Case Recovers Four Thousand Suit

The case of R. C. Davis the Washington bank cashier against Dallas Tyler for four thousand dollars tied to gambling losses at Slatter's tables was tried here. Davis obtained a judgment. the matter stems from a Tyler real estate transfer amid a damages suit. Attorneys were W. R. Gardiner Eph Inman Clark and John T. Hays. Judge Harris holds the case under advisement.

James Chaney father of Hon. John C. and Silver Chaney of this city died at his home near Ft. Wayne last Thursday night. Pneumonia and old age caused the death, unexpected though he had been in poor health for months. He was eighty and leaves two sons Jobo C. and Silver Chaney and three daughters all living near Ft. Wayne.
