Deserted Children From Hymera Reach Indiana Orphans Home
Two young daughters of Mr and Mrs James Weaver were deserted by their parents in Hymera and left with a neighbor. W A Thompson of the Board of Children's Guardians retrieved the children and brought them to Iymera then to Indianapolis State Orphans Home. Louise Thelma aged 4 and Bertha Van Tella aged 2 are cared for but poorly clothed. Parents’ whereabouts unknown. authorities search for them continue.

Next Governor of Indiana Nesbit Loses Home in Fire
Nesbit who lives two and a half miles west of the city on Graysville road saw his two story five room house and belongings destroyed by fire. Dry weather and high winds caused the blaze to spread across the roof and the building collapsed about fifteen minutes after discovery. The Nesbit family will move to a farm house for an indefi nite time with about $1,000 insurance on the building.

Buried in Potter's Field Morton Ruby Found Dead
Morton Ruby a restaurant cook in this city was found dead in the basement of the Vaughn building near Vandalia depot on Sunday night October 22. He formerly lived in Shelburn where he was married to Abbie Mundell, was reared at Merom and educated at Union Christian College. Death was caused by acute alcoholism and no one claimed the body, which was buried in the potter's field by J F Lemen & Co. on Saturday morning.

A fire about 3:00 PM Monday gutted Roy Cowles residence at 523 East Jackson Street. A woodshed fire spread, destroying most furnishings. three Bay horses perished in John Miller's barn fire nearby, with $2000 loss and $1000 insurance. The Millers lost four other animals in the blaze. The alarm came from a train engineer. flames soon overwhelmed the structures.

Mrs Elizabeth Fowler Dies At 81 In Farmersburg
Mrs Elizabeth Fowler aged 81 died Sunday at the home of Mrs Robert McCrocklin after an extended illness. She suffered a fractured hip in a recent fall. Funeral services were held Monday at the residence with burial in the McCrocklin cemetery. Survived by one sister Mrs Robert McCrocklin a son Willie Schwab of Terre Haute three nieces and two nephews.
