Death of Wm F Dodds A New Lebanon Native
William F Dodds a longtime county resident died Monday at his New Lebanon home after a long Brights disease illness. Born January 22 1841 near New Lebanon he lived in the county all his life and served in Co I 2nd Indiana Cavalry during the Civil War. He married Abbie Silvers in 1876 and leaves six children. He belonged to M E church Sullivan Lodge Odd Fellows and Silvers Post G A R. Funeral at the M E church New Lebanon with Rev David Ryan and burial at Camp Ground cemetery.

A Whistling Mouse in South Court Street Home
LSE Jeffry of South Court street reports a mouse in his home that whistles and sings like a canary and partridge. He caught the animal after hearing a strange noise and found it the source of the whistling. The mouse bears no distinguishing marks from common house rodents.

Death of Dr George Freeman in Chicago
Dr George Freeman died last Wednesday at his Chicago home of paralysis. He was born in Sullivan County 54 years ago and studied at Ohio Medical College. He practiced in Iowa before moving to Chicago. He was son of Mrs John Gilker and brother of Dr Joseph Freeman and Charles Freeman. Remains were brought home for burial and interred at Center Ridge cemetery last Saturday.

Edward Summers, son of Caleb Summers of Haddon Township, attending Purdue University, rode the Purdue football special wrecked in Indianapolis last Saturday. Eighteen died. Summers was in the third coach, which toppled onto a coal car. He escaped without a scratch.

Eleventh annual Womans Relief Corps convened in Sullivan
The fifth district of Indiana held its eleventh annual Womans Relief Corps convention at the G A R hall in Sullivan last Friday. District president An gie Mahan presided with department president Sarah C. White in attendance and delivering an encouraging address. Welcome came from Mrs J P Stratton with response by Mrs Weakley of Terre Haute. Frank Neff Corps performed ritual work inspected by the department president. Mrs Bishop of Brazil was nominated as national delegate and Mrs Richard Hardesty of Sullivan as alternate. Sixty delegates attended and a camp fire followed. Next meeting to be held in Terre Haute.

Man Falls From Nashville Limited Then Rejoins Train
