Fatal Shooting in New Lebanon Ties Ongoing Family Dispute
James Gierson, living two miles southwest of New Lebanon, was shot and killed by his nephew Owen after a quarrel at Gierson’s home. Gierson, who had been drinking, struck at Owen with a chair and razor before Owen fired four times with a revolver. Coroner held an inquest. postmortem showed a long lodged shard in Gierson’s lung. Owen was arrested and jailed.
