In Lexington Kentucky on October 28 the banking firm D A Sayre and Co assigned. President E D Sayre died recently and the Trust and Safety Vault Co was named assignee. Deposits total 140 000 dollars and the assignee will pay dollar for dollar but will seize all property of J W and E D Sayre Jr sons of the president and major stockholders. Significant negotiable paper is due in several months preventing calls.

Street Fight Ends With Woman Killed by Stray Bullet
Ironton Ohio October 81. C P Moore of Green River Kentucky resisted arrest for disorderly conduct. A running gun battle with officers followed. Moore fired an 88 caliber revolver a bullet went through a residence window killing Mrs Lot Hawthorn wife of a clothing salesman who watched the fight. Moore was captured after sustaining minor wounds to head and legs.

Gas Blast Injures Ten at Carnegie Steel
Ten men were burned at the Carnegie steelworks in Pittsburg while attaching a gas meter for a new gashouse. A train of hot ingots passed igniting gas and triggering a powerful explosion that hurled workers in all directions. two of the injured are expected to die.
