Former Sullivan Miner Charley Gilmour Dies in Texas
Charley Gilmour, 45, a former Sul llivan resident and mine superintendent, died Wednesday in Houston, Texas from diabetes after months of ill health. Survived by wife, daughter Eleanor, and brother Jack Gilmour. He worked at Union mine north of Sullivan, later Harrisburg and mines near Terre Haute. Member of Sullivan lodge of Elks.

Tomorrow in Sullivan marks a large Memorial Day event with two oclock prayer at the Methodist church and a procession from Court Street to Center Ridge cemetery led by Edward A. Billman marshal. Hon. Ed gar D. Bush of Salem will deliver the principal address as 75 man home guards drill and a military salute may occur. Stores and residences are asked to decorate and close by noon as crowds gather from county townships for the patriotic observance.

Camp Taylor Boys to Camp Sherman Transfer Planned
It was announced Monday that 25,000 soldier boys stationed at Camp Zachary Taylor in Louisville Kentucky would be sent to Camp Sherman at Chillicothe Ohio. Sullivan county boys in earlier contingents will be sent there.
