Edward Brown a about thirty year old coal miner from Patricksburg Ind was struck and killed by a northbound interurban car just north of Pimento. The accident occurred about 930 PM Sunday night. He was believed to have been asleep on the track. A Mine Workers membership card and a pay envelope were found in his coat and identified him.

Runaway Horse Injures Farm Hand Near City
Chalmer Chastain a farm hand on the Patton farm east of the city was severely injured Sunday evening when a horse he drove frightened and bolted throwing him from the buggy. Found unconscious in the Robbins home barn lot with a deep head wound and probable skull fracture. Horse bruised buggy demolished Chastain in serious condition but expected to recover.

Marvin Lavan aged 18 from near Paxton and Blanche Robinson aged 15 from Dugger wed at the county clerk's office about noon last Wednesday by Justice Calvert. Parents objected to the union due to age. couple had disappeared May 4 to Terre Haute where Lavan worked at Malleable Steel Mills. Police arrested them when they returned to Sullivan. Judge Bridwell issued a special permit for a marriage license and the ceremony followed.

The Sullivan County Water Company has completed and accepted a modern water system supplying the city from Riverton gravel beds about twelve miles away. The plant has 800000 gallons daily capacity, uses one well with expansion potential, and includes an electric lifter pump for fire pressure. Botts Charges Alex Rogers With Cruelty
Alexander Rogers, a Sullivan resident and former Gill township farmer, was arrested by Constable Rich on cruelty to a horse owned by Newt Botts. The case was filed in Squire Calvert's court and set for trial Friday. Botts says Rogers hired the horse, kept it at his Gill township farm, tied all day without feed. Rogers claims the horse was fed.
