Anthony B. Springer a Palmyra Missouri merchant died at Blessing hospital in Quincy Illinois after a long ear ailment caused brain abscess and diabetes. Born in Carlisle Indiana September 4 1847 he lived in Indiana prior to settling in Palmyra where he ran the Springer groceries and later held controlling interest. He leaves four children and siblings including T B Springer Jr of Sullivan Indiana and Mrs Mason. Funeral plans note interment in Palmyra on Monday.

Miner Falls From Car In Accidental Injury
Charles Coleman a coal miner from this city was badly injured Thursday night when he fell from the rear platform of a traction car at stop No 25 north of the city. He was taken to Crowder hospital with a dislocated shoulder and other injuries. He is about 30 unmarried.

Arson Case Began in Daviess County Circuit Court
The trial of Perry Drake and several Daviess county men charged with arson began Monday in the Daviess county circuit court with Joseph Henley of Bloomington as special judge. The prosecution is led by Hunt & Gambill. a change of venue followed a previous verdict in a related insurance suit. Indictments were returned by the Daviess county grand jury and a special venire of sixty five names was drawn.

Walters completes four years in U S naval service
Walter Walters a Sullivan high school graduate and brother of Charles Walters, was mustered out May 11 at Norfolk Virginia after four years in the U S Navy. He served mainly in the X ray room at Norfolk navy yard, joined in 1910, twice went to Europe, and captained the Naval Y M C A basketball team that won Virginia titles in 1912 and 1913.

Ira Medley of Jefferson township faces a murder charge in the October killing of Trustin Isbell at the Little Giant mine. Machine Turns Turtle With Sullivan Men
W. W. Harbaugh and W. T. Mellett of Sullivan were in a car accident fifteen miles west of Danville Illinois while returning from Clinton. The car struck loose sand on a hill and overturned. Mellett escaped with minor injuries while Harbaugh suffered severe bruising to his right foot and leg. The vehicle was driven to Danville for repairs before continuing the trip.
