Ed Bivins is named champion seven up at the May store contest with Ed Bascombe awarding him green glasses as the prize. Local happenings include a trip to Indianapolis by Bill Blithers with a bass drum, mild mischief at prayer meeting, church deacon concerns, and community notes on soda taxes, domestic life, schoolyard scuffles, and a war garden project.

The proposed route begins near Section 16 and runs about one mile north then northwest to the Chicago Terre Haute and Southeastern Railway right of way, and a second proposed highway runs from the southwest corner of Section 16 north along the half section line then northeast along the railway line to the public highway.
