Forrest Brentlinger aged four, son of Mr and Mrs Emmit Brentlinger of Carlisle, died at Indianapolis City Hospital after hydrophobia from a dog bite three weeks earlier. Pasteur treatment started late. dog died and lab showed rabies. Another boy, George Shaw of North Sullivan, bitten the same day, remained in critical but improving condition at the Pasteur Institute.

Joseph Chrisman a well known colored resident died Wednesday morning at his West Street home from complications of old age. He was between eighty and ninety and once enslaved in Kentucky until the Emancipation Proclamation. He came to Sullivan after the war and worked many years in brick making with his brother Harvey who survives with three sons Harvey Joe and Lewis.

Sheriff A H Kruse returned from Michigan City with Thomas Shepherd the elderly Sullivan county man sentenced to the State Prison. He said Shepherd caused no trouble and was placed in confinement. On arrival at the prison the first man to meet Shepherd was Hinshaw the minister jailed for murdering his wife. En route home Kruse witnessed a fatal two train wreck near Cicero with two dead and several injured.
