William A. Sherwood, brother of Mrs Bettie Hardesty of this city, died Friday at his home in Linton. Pioneer resident and prominent citizen, he was born May 28, 1850 in Livonia Indiana and lived in Linton fifty nine years. He leaves three brothers Tlugh M. Sherwood Edgar N. Sherwood of Linton and James B. Sherwood of Los Angeles. Funeral held Sunday afternoon conducted by the Linton Masonic lodge.
Miss Eunice Juliet Holmes youngest daughter of Mrs A A Holmes, formerly of Sullivan, to John Gregg Stephenson announced for Nevada Missouri. The couple will reside at 226 S Adams St Nevada Mo after July 1. Holmes is a Sullivan High School graduate and noted musician and artist.
Sunday marked the eighty seventh birthday of George Exline a Cuass township resident six miles east of Sullivan He is in poor health and friends and relatives visited him. Jacob F Hoke Thomas A Lyons and Josephus Anderson Civil War comrades called on him. Mrs Exline is very ill with cancer.
