Southerland Appeals to Supreme Court in Murder Case
Jesse Southerland, captured after a six year absence, appeals his 2 to 14 year Michigan City prison sentence for attempted murder of Mel Webster. He argues the circuit court erred in removing and re docketing the case, though he does not challenge the verdict or fairness of trial. The appeal, filed by attorney Walter F. Wood, asserts legal error in docket handling and return from fugitive status.
