Sullivan County Predicts Bumper Corn Crop This Year
An informed crop observer told the Union that Sullivan County will see a corn yield equal to or better than prior years. About 90 percent of the corn acreage, roughly 40,000 acres, has been planted on 270,000 tillable acres. Some river bottom land remains unplanted due to seep water, but corn can be planted later this month to avoid frost. The outlook suggests a bumper crop with wide regional impact.
