Goldberg Sues to Block County Tax Duplicate Increase
Samuel H. Goldberg through attorneys sues to stop E. E. Russell from placing taxes on his tax duplicate after the county board of review raised his assessment from 388 to 4410 alleging receipts from fire insurance payments and missing disclosure by Goldberg and his father. The board ordered the higher assessment citing unknown disposition of insurance money and goods bought in Chicago. Goldberg claims the 4410 assessment is wrongful and that he owned none of the listed items on March 1, 1906.
