Proposed Hamilton Tp Grade High School Plan Faces Opposition
Trustee J W Kemp eyes a north township grade and high school costing 30 000 to 40 000 dollars with township funding for transportation. Opposition arises mainly in the south end. A special tax levy and a 2 percent city assessment on Sullivan are discussed. Township tuition to Sullivan runs about 3 500 yearly, and Sullivan facilities may already meet needs with a new gymnasium. Some argue Sullivan offers superior facilities and favors local attendance. A petition to consolidate Haddon grade with city graded schools will be heard by County Superintendent Park on August 6.
