The New York letter lampoons sneak thievery by a stylish young woman Eva Jacobs arrested in Brooklyn after a bold six week spree. It lauds the city’s bustle, peddlers, and licenses while condemning interruptions at home. Also reports a deaf mute wedding, Washington Heights asylum commencements, a mock Mother Shipton prophecy, and a bizarre three-eyed lamb from Sharrett & Buzzard with two skulls and two spines.
