Long Walk Mystery Ends As Boys Return From Ohio

McGlone’s three sons ages 7 9 and 11 disappeared from the Davis House hotel last Thursday and were later found walking toward home along the E T H tracks toward Carlisle after deciding to return to Ohio. They reached Carlisle and were identified as McGlone’s children and returned on the afternoon train. In local notices a string of court actions appear including guardianship sales and settlements. The Woman's Home Missionary Society hosted a New Year reception at Mrs G W Buff's home with Holly decorations and a silver offering raised for the society.

Levee Bidters Refuse Contract in Turman and Fairbanks
Cauliflower and Cox of Hutsonville Illinois the successful bidders for an eleven mile levee in Turman and Fairbanks townships refused the contract last Thursday and did not present their bond. The bid was 64000 with the levee estimated at 84000 to be finished by May 1 1905. The project will protect 1000 acres of farm lands from Wabash River inundation.

Sudden Death Claims Young Man in Carlisle Area
B Rush Lemon of Hecla Nebraska received word Wednesday that his son John Lemon age 20 died. The death cause is unclear. John, youngest of three sons, will be brought to Carlisle by Orland Lemen and buried at the Starner family graveyard on the Frank Starner farm northwest of town.
