George Cleveland a carpenter was arrested Sunday afternoon by a Jasonville constable for operating a saloon at Antioch east of the city in Keene county. Cleveland bonded for appearance in a Jasonville justice court. A son in law Si in held a saloon license at Antioch expiring March. Stein planned to leave Antioch and sell the business to Cleveland. Cleveland believed he could legally run the place and kept his children in charge for a time. He had moved out of Greene county to avoid the issue.

Farmersburg Indiana February 25 Louis Dabblemont a coal miner at the Rood mine was instantly killed by a fall of slate while in a face room. The 40 year old man neck and back broken by the collapse. He was separated from his wife whose divorce suit is in Sullivan circuit court. A child remains in serious condition in Terre Haute hospital. He had worked at the Rood mine since December and boarded at George Reed’s home near the mine.

Death of William Bain. funeral and burial
William Bain aged 47 of this city died Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. He is survived by a wife and several children. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the residence conducted by Rev. George Murphy of the M E church. Burial followed at Poplar cemetery west of Sullivan.
