A Farm Boy Plans a Turnaround for a Worn Out Land
Sam Powell, a sixteen year old in a poverty struck family, embraces scientific farming. He joins a Boys Corn club, receives guidance from government agent Mr Burns, and recruits friends to restore a decayed 20 acre plot with deep plowing, fertilizer from manure, and careful book learning. The plan includes a March move back to the farm and a year of hands on work.
