Rural Route Establishment Signals Growth For Sullivan
Rural Routes Nos 1 and 2 in Sullivan County begin April 1 under General Superintendent orders. Route 1 runs a 50 mile south route past Aus Sinclairs and Tony Dodds to Haddon Township then returns via New Lebanon road. Route 2 starts west on Merom road to Providence church then northwest to Dr Durhams and back to the P O via a north gravel road. The department seeks a county map to refine routes. four more routes are promised to follow. Public demand and farm access to mail, money orders, and registrations grow, with boxes at farms becoming common. A new Main Street building 110 feet front will include a freight elevator. the old blacksmith shop is removed to improve the public square and local business.

Small Pox Quarantines Raised in Indiana Towns
Dr. VanCleave of Farmersburg raised the small pox quarantine on Tuesday and is praised by citizens and county health officers for preventing further contagion. Farmersburg is declared clear. Quarantine at Shelburn was set at the Sells residence. Alva Stark of Hymera has recovered and Hymera’s quarantine is lifted.
