Mrs Emma C French a former Merom resident 64 died in Cincinnati hospital after being hit by a car December 13. The driver an 18 year old boy faces manslaughter charges. Funeral services held in Cincinnati and burial at Merom with Eastern Star and M E church members leading rites. Survived by husband and several children and brothers.

Dixie Bee Line Bridge Opens Reducing Detour Nearby Farm Road

Miners Die in Sullivan County Accidents
Two miners lost their lives in county mines last week. Hall, 55, of Linton, top foreman at the Hamilton mine in Jefferson township, was fatally injured when pulled into a shaker screen. Russell Davis May, 28, of Sullivan, was crushed by a falling coal block at the Exline corner mine south of Sullivan while assisting in cutting coal. Both deaths followed by funeral arrangements and survivor notices.

The city celebrated its largest Christmas charity distribution this year. Mrs. R. W. Cadwell led a major basket drive while the Associated Charities supplied food and clothing to numerous homes. The Community Christmas tree at court house park drew crowds as committees handed out treats. A boxing carnival at Lloyd auto sales raised funds for Community Christmas. A tree and program also took place at the county hospital.

Pair Charged With Liquor Law Violation
