Coke Ovens for Hymera May Boost City Growth
The Hymera Herald reports the Dering Coal Company tests Hymera coal for coking at St Louis ovens. If coal is clean enough, coke production could revive local mines, create jobs, and fuel a new era for Hymera with gas and oil byproducts. A shaft may be dug north of town to meet demand, linking to nearby Star City and Debcarbo.

Cauble Sproat Wedding In Carlisle This Afternoon
James Roscoe Cauble son of Rev. P. C. Cauble of Vincennes and Beatrice Sproat daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Sproat of Oaktown were married at H. T. Alumbaugh’s residence in Carlisle at 2 pm. Rev. H. W. Edwards officiated. The couple, who had planned to wed December 22, left for Indianapolis for their honeymoon and will return to Vincennes next week to establish their home.
