Fresh Pickings From the Tiger Field

Sheriff Wible Deputy Ed Kelly and Prosecutor Bedwell conducted a weekly blind tiger hunt near Hymera. They found liquor bottles concealed in a corn field near Charles Johnson and without alcohol on site. They served a warrant for Johnson’s arrest on illegal sale charges. They found no liquor at Ollie McCrocklin’s Hymera property. At Emil Bia’s former Star City saloon they seized two dozen bottles of beer as patrons drank heavily. Bia is on bond in two cases for illegal sale. Pat Lyman at Shelburn was found in bed and said he quit selling and using liquor and is paroled on those conditions.
