James Whipps Makes Money In Potatoes
Sullivan county farmers gain from Purdue University experimental farm guidance. James Whipps near Carlisle expanded to eight acres of potatoes after using a chemical remedy from the Purdue station to prevent eye spot, enabling higher yields. He sprays, rests twenty four hours, then plants, and harvests with a specialized digger. The station also claims soil treatment can boost wheat yields by fifteen bushels per acre as Whipps plans twenty five acres.
