Judge John Chaney of Canal Winchester died tonight in his 92nd year. Born in Maryland January 12 1790 he served as Jackson elector in 1832 and was elected to Congress in 1836 for three terms. He held five terms in the Ohio House and one in the Senate. He was an Associate Justice of the Circuit Court and earliest office was Justice of the Peace. His first wife survives him. He was likely the oldest ex member of Congress in the United States. He was an uncle of J C Chaney Ep
