Isaac Conner 75 and a substantial citizen living four miles northwest of Sullivan suffered a stroke at his breakfast table this morning. He is speechless, unconscious, and believed dying. this marks his third stroke in six months. Proceedings note guardianship and estate actions follow in court records.
Supt McCullough returns from the Southern Indiana Teachers Association gathering in Bloomington Indiana where over seventeen hundred enrolled and visitors joined. Key addresses by Dr Ne Schaeffer and Dr Bryan inspired educators as lectures and labs showcased new electrical discoveries including X rays and wireless tech. Next year’s session scheduled for Vincennes invites Sullivan county teachers to attend.
Having sold stock and retired from business the John Davis Co. notifies all debtors to visit the law office of I. H. Kaller to settle store accounts at once as the books must be closed.
The Sullivan Town Board may appoint a street commissioner after May 1. Stewart Barnes, a veteran street builder with thirty years of experience, offers to serve. His work spans Center Ridge cemetery and projects across Indiana, Ohio, and California. Letters praise his woodwork and leadership, promising cleaner alleys and better streets at lower cost by reducing labor and expense.
The U S Convention invites all to sessions at Sullivan Baptist church April 14 and 15. The program combines adult and young people's work with a sermon by Rev. W. G. Law of Vincennes and a closing rally with Rev. D. R. Landis of Lafayette.
Warren Watson of near Merom lost an eye last week while trimming a hedge fence at work. A thorn provoked eye injury. a Terre Haute oculist said the other eye was not affected and the injured eye cannot recover its sight. Fresh garden seeds in bulk. Sullivan Mercantile Co.
Lou Mason invites neighbors to a family dinner at Baker Mason farm four miles south of town in Sullivan. The event honors John F Mason who will move to Montana next week to join his sons after his wife’s death. John F recently lived twenty years in Philadelphia Mo and will reside with his sons thereafter. Mason arrived in Sullivan for a December visit and the gathering promises good food for attendees.

Jim DeVol says he would rather hunt without a gun than fish without a boat. He is finishing a fine skiff at his shop west of the square and building a wagon to haul it. He and Mrs DeVol plan their first trip on lower Turman creek.

Geo. Hanford loses a horse and Nev. Crowder's pony dies in the same night amid a heavy storm. Dan Arbaugh of New Lebanon reports a drowning call while attempting to rescue an animal from a ditch Saturday night.
Mrs Lydia Colvin Hall, wife of John B Hall, died Saturday at her home in Kansas City Missouri. She was about 50 and had multiple marriages and property interests. Her remains were to be buried in Sullivan after a telegram Sunday. Her mother Mrs Calvin left for Kansas City Sunday night. Lydia was reared in Merom and here and contributed to her aged mother.
A quiet Sunday evening wedding at Squire Joyce's residence was officiated by his honor. Edgar R. Harrison married June Johnson. The bride, from Hymera and working in Paris Illinois as milliner, will reside with the groom in Clinton Indiana. Both are respected citizens.
Willis of Sullivan Indiana advertises footwear bargains under Springer and promotes farm loans at six percent annual interest for five years with optional early payments from $100. Also notices job work services at the Union office and a Sullivan Co. Normal event at East Side Square.
Mrs Murduck, about 63, suffered a paralysis stroke affecting her left side. Confined to her room, she is not in a hopeful condition. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Marts and has two brothers, John and Jacob Marts, living at Chapman Kansas.

A barn belonging to Dan Spilkey in north Sullivan burned ten days ago with the origin unknown. Henry Monk, two miles south of Dugger, lost his frame house and most contents last week, likely from a defective flue, with no insurance and serious losses.

Miles of Merom opens an implement store on Washington Street offering up to date tools including Sattley cultivators plows Hummer gang and single plows Captain Kidd disc cultivator and a selection of buggies and road wagons Also buys eggs old iron copper brass zinc lead and rubber from customers. A. L. Greenberg advertises loan terms with annual interest payments and William Willis references.
