The tale follows Luc y and Cuthbert Woods as parental warnings and social expectations steer a romance. Mr. Woods Sr. arranges a reconciliation with Miss Aylesworth who becomes wife to his son, uniting both households in a city country split.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ohlenschlager of Terre Haute attended the funeral of Samuel Akers. Peter W. a well known citizen is dangerously ill at home in the east part of Sullivan.
