Firefighters battle oil depot blaze in Worth TL
Engine Company No 120 of Morgan Park and Mt Greenwood Fire Department responded Friday afternoon September 12 to a Worth TL fire involving thirty barrels of oil and large gasoline tanks on Depot street and Wabash Ave. They struggled to secure water but finally pumped from a cistern used by railroad engines. After about two hours the crews extinguished the flames and saved three large gasoline tanks owned by Standard Oil Company.
