The record shows total attendance 140 200 across meetings with Mr Sunday preaching tonight and Wednesday in Pontiac. Funds raised include 2800 21 for Sunday morning 785 16 Sunday afternoon 342 Sunday evening 56 Sunday afternoon 1173 conversions and 57 raised by women.

After investigation a man’s body was discovered in a barn with no evidence of foul play. Authorities treat the death as likely a suicide.
The missing man from Paw Paw, Covell, 48, was discovered in the hayloft of D. C. Bréece's barn on the outskirts of Paw Paw after eight weeks missing. A vial without a label lay near the body. no violence or illness signs were noted. Relatives handled the burial. a funeral was held today. Covell left home two months ago and, troubled by family issues, is believed to have taken his own life leaving a wife and one son.
Elder Santee of Dixon led a well attended Sunday session at the M W A hall Rock Falls on theProphesies of Jesus. The talk relied entirely on scripture and drew interest from searchers. The remains of Miss Mary C Kearney arrived from Chicago at noon and were taken to St Marys church for funeral services conducted by Rev Father James J Bennett. A large concourse attended and pallbearers included Edward Conboy A J Frank John Kannally A M Clavin10 Killen and Thomas McCue. Family members and Chicago visitors also attended the ceremony.
E J Cook, a long time cigar manufacturer, has purchased the Sterling saloon from Joseph Moore. The stock is being invoiced and the saloon will open tomorrow morning with John R Wolf assisting. Cook aims to follow Moore’s business policy.
The Knights of the Globe will host a social and dancing party tomorrow evening at their hall in the Academy of Music. Eminent Ladies and friends are invited and refreshments will be served during the evening.
Miss Julia Grove of Paw Paw returned home this morning after visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs Johnathan Butt. She was accompanied by her cousin Frank Dorothy of Republican Ned who is visiting in the city.
A severe storm drenched the city with lightning and torrents Saturday night causing many streets to flood. Sewers lagged as catch basins clogged with refuse, forcing city crews led by Superintendent Samuel Benner to clear basins while noting some cellar flooding and swift river currents with no reported damage.
This Evening Machinists O Q F City council Knights of the Globe and Eastern Star announce regular meetings and a moving picture show at the armory.
Mrs. Bernard Stoltz travels to Woosung to visit her brother Christ Hummel for a few days. Miss Nellie Anthony and Fern Stoeckle secure positions at Mrs. M J Browns millinery store. Jessie Andrew from Chicago begins trimming duties. Henry Kohl recovers from a neck carbuncle and returns to work. Mr and Mrs John Mammen depart for San Francisco for a position with a large wholesale barber supply house. Y M C A building committee meets to discuss plans to resume construction of the new home when weather allows.
George Detrick of the Illinois State Firemen's Association met with city business leaders and fire department members this afternoon. He reported good progress and said the tournament could be landed in this city, with a stock company to cover expenses. Gate receipts are expected to cover costs, and a meeting is planned next week to act on the project.
Vedder, late advance agent of the James Kennedy Stock Company, has arrived for the summer in Sterling with Mrs Vedder expected soon. He has resigned from Kennedy and joined the Ingomar Comedy Company, using Sterling as headquarters through the theatrical season. He notes several actors are considering Sterling as a summer home, while Miss Ella B Spencer returns from a visit to Chicago.
A massive blast at the R. B. Grover Shoe factory in Brocton Massachusetts kills about fifty workers. Fire follows the explosion and takes hours to control. By noon twenty five bodies are recovered and many victims are severely burned or mutilated. News service report from March 20.
The case before Master in Chancery Andrews continued this morning with testimony on the value of the Second Avenue property traded to Fred Billings by the Martin Brothers as part pay for Keller estate. Witnesses A L Kreider and others valued the property around one thousand to twelve hundred dollars and attested to deed details and parties involved.
Funeral services for William Sims were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at his daughter Mrs. Tyler Martin’s Sixth Avenue home. A large gathering of relatives friends and Grand Army Post members attended. Rev Sir Holtzman of Zion Evangelical Church delivered the sermon. G A R Post conducted grave rites. Pallbearers included Jacob Eisele Henry Flock Charles Buck Christian Eisele Andrew K Haberer and Henry Potts.
A large family reunion gathered Thursday afternoon on Avenue D with all members present from near and far. An elaborate dinner was served at 2 o clock. Those attending included Mrs H M Ferris of Carlton Missouri Mr and Mrs M J McCarthy of Salt Lake City Utah Mr and Mrs J G Coakley of Decatur Illinois Mr and Mrs William Kanzler of this city and John and
Evangelist closes a major revival with eleven hundred seventy three converts reported as record attendance and pledges for follow up and growth throughout the region.
The Dixon tabernacle hosted three services that netted 1616 dollars despite a leaky roof and rain. Contributions included 300 for the Kendall club charity fund and support from C. J. Miller, Mayor Edwards, F. Palmer, L. W. Mitchell, and others as evangelist Sunday led converts and prepared for more meetings.
