S S Dietich a prominent Lanark business man aged about thirty five unmarried shot himself in his room near the post office early this morning between midnight and six o clock He was found fully dressed except shoes and will lie inquest hold this afternoon He left two letters for reading at the inquest noting ill health and no financial troubles leaving three sisters and both parents dead He had conducted a large grocery store for seven years and was highly respected by the community

Moore Added to Steel Brush Gang for Fine Payment

Hay Field Burned Near Nelson In Afternoons Fire
A 25 acre hay field owned by O L Watt west of Nelson burned yesterday afternoon with about 60 tons lost and a 20 ton stack destroyed. The blaze started from a spark from a Northwestern engine and was halted by 25 section hands sent from Sterling Dixon and Nelson, keeping the fire from spreading. Loss estimated at 450 dollars.
