Sterling High Greets Ten New Teachers
Sterling High School welcomes ten new faculty members from across the country. New hires include Barbara Lane and Cheryl Mattes in English from Mlinors State University and Dwight High School, plus Glynn Gerlat from the State University of Iowa. The math department adds Jeff Fort and Michael Paris, with Fort also coaching football and golf. Paris is a 1966 Eastern Illinois graduate. Richard Zion from Illinois State will teach history with some coaching duties. James Ahling returns to teach Industrial Education and coach football. Andrew De Craene, Western Illinois graduate, will advise and teach business education. Harvey Johnson will lead choruses after 14 years at Monmouth High School. John Johnson is new chorus director, alumnus of Augustana College. Clayton Linscheid becomes D.O. coordinator with prior teaching stints in Iowa, Germany, and LeMars.
