Jeep S H S War Stamp Drive Sets Goal for Seniors

The senior war stamp committee at S. H. S. sets a $1 165 jeep purchase goal for the sixth war loan drive. Sales began Monday with a boy girl contest to buy the most stamps before December 16. Any buyer may wear a minute-man pin. Co chairs are Barbara Heindel and Martha Whaley with assistants Leora Wolker Ruth Olds Betty Ebersole Ida Harms Vera Miller and Lois Stewart.

Actor-Musician To Play For Students On Dec 8

On Friday December 8 Donald Scott Morrison noted musician and dramatist will present to the student body an interesting and unique program. He will lecture on music and music forms through the centuries impersonating such composers as Debussy and Bach with authentic costumes and make up. Morrison plays piano and harpsichord which he carries with him. This will be three programs in one a concert a lecture and a dramatization.

Students Contribute To Junior Red Cross Fund

Fourteen counseling groups enrolled 100 percent as the Junior Red Cross held its annual financial drive last Friday. The effort drew praise for student and faculty participation and notes others may still contribute through council members in each counseling group.

The senior class sponsors an annual Christmas luncheon on Wednesday December 20 under Viola Wells and Mary Louise Zigler. The seniors plan a tasty menu and program including a visit from Santa Claus who will bring a present for everyone. A large attendance is expected.

The Sterling Township High School band directed by J J Richards performed for the Frantz Manufacturing Company E Award celebration. They opened with a WWI medley and then moved to As the Caissons Go Rolling Along for the award and The Marines Hymn for the ribbon presentation.

Junior Miss Among Best Senior Class Plays in Years

The 1945 senior class presented Junior Miss on November 15 to 17 with strong performances by Audrey Pabst as Judy and Bud Maynard as Harry Graves. Cast members including Pat Mar quis Viola Radke Bonnie Bell Merrill Benson Wallace Oldman Patt Roden Ida Harms Jack Cassens and others delivered acclaimed roles. Connie Doermann and Jean Hart produced, while Miss Burritt and Miss Joiner directed the play.

Miss Helyn Franke Dies in Car Collision at Sterling

Sterling Township High School mourns as home economics teacher Miss Helyn Franke dies at Princeton hospital after a head on crash last Wednesday night. The collision also injured Mrs. Kennethamilton. a Manlius high school student died at the scene. Miss Franke arrived from Iowa State College in 1943 and taught homemaking with warmth and devotion.

Annual Carol Sing and Christmas Play by Dramatic Club

The Dramatic Club presents a Christmas production "Why the Chimes Rang" set in a cathedral. A will is central to the plot and a happy ending is promised, inviting all to join the festive drama and carols.
