Golden Warrior Pops Concert Delights Friday Audience

Golden Warrior Band and Mr Schuler presented a spring Pops concert on Thursday April 29 featuring Mr Erickson and the girls chorus in a band and choral number. The program opened with Frescobaldi Toccata followed by Night Soliloquy with Lynette Davis flute solo and French Quarter suite. The Gershwin Second Prelude and Capitol Hill march closed the first half before Impressions of Seville and Armenian Dances enriched the second half. A Funny Girl band arrangement and Artistry in Boogie with Marty Allen and Jim Greenup led to Thunder crest and Flight of the Bumblebee to end the show.

College Night Very Successful

The annual college night for sophomores and juniors was held Tuesday April 27. The Guidance Department organized this event to help students meet college reps and learn about admission costs and courses. Honor Society Induction Held for NHS Class of 64-65

The final National Honor Society induction for the 64-65 school year took place on Tuesday April 6 at 8 00 pm Parents of new inductees attended The event featured welcoming remarks by Marcia Wagner and explanations of NHS values by John Boyer Mike Margolin Glen Weatherwax Ann Wheeler Martin Allen Jane Zhinden Bob McMurry Eloise Wenger Jane Puterbaugh and Lee Wenger Ed Olds described the NHS emblem and Dr Plath administered the pledge New inductees were introduced received certificates and were pinned by parents The new second semester junior inductees include Caren Black Connie Buhrow Sandra Coats Jane Giese Eric Mosher Sue Polan Arletta Reichard Rosalie Rudiger Fred Schwab Larry Sheaffer Donna Webb Bob Wright and Paul Weeg The second semester senior inductees are Susan Bushman Glen Eckelbarger Karen Friel Bonnie Lubbs John Meldorf Larry Parks Wayne Pough Barb Reynolds Bill Rhyne Laurel Rick Cheryl Schwitters Carolyn Shank Bill Tonkin Bob Wallingford and Rae Jean White.

Seniors to Stage Diary of Anne Frank at SHS

The Class of ’65 will present The Diary of Anne Frank on May 6 7 with a May 7 student matinee at 8:00 p.m. in the Girls gym directed by Harmon Tucker with Diana Davis as student director. Cast includes John Boyer Pat McCormick Peggie Dorothy Laurel Rick Mel Breed Steve Sellett Carol Abbott Jim Greenup and others in a drama set in World War II Holland detailing tensions in the attic refugees and budding romance between Anne Frank and Peter Van Daan.
