The D. E. Club held its February 11 1979 meeting with Garrie Frank as president Pam Habden as vice president Simon Clalpe as secretary treasurer and Gayla Harrison as historian public relations. The club will split into Rock Falls sections with separate officers due to varied schedules.

A letter to the editor from Brad Gumm, member of the Instructional Media Association, questions teacher book borrowing privileges at STHS. He argues teachers can keep books longer than the two week limit, which he says denies fair access to students and colleagues. He urges teachers to return books on time.
President Kirt Kradle warns that apathy chills school spirit and social bonds at STHS. He urges students to break into action through greeting others, questioning in class, expanding their social circle, offering constructive criticisms, engaging with staff, and participating in pep assemblies to foster a more lively, purposeful school atmosphere. Kipling quote underscores call to effort.
