The 1964-65 SHS year brings a new building addition, a new faculty mix, and innovations like team teaching and a closed circuit TV system. The SCRIPT plans changes to improve reader interest and invites student feedback and suggestions.

Guidance Department Changes At Sterling High School
The Sterling High School Guidance Department has moved offices to Room 205 and added Miss Doris Burritt as Dean of Women. English Teachers Slaved Over Summer Curriculum
Summer work by Miss Dickson Mrs Bauer Mr Hayden and Mr Jensen sharpened the English curriculum and gifted program. Assisting were Miss Lucille Lundgren Gordon Hoke and Miss Jean McCue at Ann Arbor High School. The department warns classes will be overworked this year.

Titans Scientists Attend Coll
Three SHS seniors Judy Mellang Marty Allen and Mike Heidel were selected for National Science Foundation summer programs. Judy joined Western Michigan University for six weeks in chemistry and mathematics with two research papers. Marty studied cytology histology embryology and histochemistry at Loyola University Chicago for eight weeks. Mike attended engineering sciences at University of Illinois Champaign for six weeks with high speed shock tube research. All three praised the experience for guiding their science careers.

Team Teaching Arrives in Evanston Schools Wide
The school introduces team teaching in part of the social science department. Two world history classes and three American history classes will use two history teams led by Colborn Wigginton and James Yemm Polhill.
