Band Places In Third Division In State Contest
The band earned third place in Class B at the state contest marking their first appearance and likely the youngest group. Central and Wallace school students joined, traveling 26 miles to Paxton for the event. Girls were chaperoned by Miss Echternach and Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Heaton, and Mrs. Hoak. Mr. Hoogeveen led the boys. Some students who had to work Saturday returned home after the contest. Mr. Bailey offered congratulations on the performance.
