Hampton Quartette on a Good Will Tour
The Hampton Quartette toured under Y.M.C.A. auspices visiting University of Virginia Fishburne Military, Staunton Military, Lee High School and more in Virginia. They sang for YMCA and Rotary Club pages and then traveled to Shenandoah College Bridgewater College Rollers School and Harrisonburg State Teachers College. They performed mainly spirituals with W. E. Creek ur G. H. White Jeremiah Thomas J. H. Wainwright in the party. Wainwright an original member. All four are Hampton Institute graduates.

Mrs Martha Anne Jones Laid To Rest
Mrs Martha Anne Jones a well known citizen died last Friday at her granddaughter's residence and was buried from Ebenezer Baptist Church Monday evening. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Dr R C Parnell and city pastors. She is survived by three daughters and twelve grandchildren plus forty seven great grandchildren. Body laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery.
