Panel Named for Fall Jury Duty
Eight residents were on the panel of prospective jury members summoned by the sheriff for the fall term of District Court which begins September 3. Bring A Bib Watermelon Giveaway At Bank Nite

State Looks To Limit Access Near New Route 34 Intersection
Stanton faces a clash over Highway 34 routing as state planners seek an 8 foot raised intersection with 600 foot sight lines at Highway 120. Paving Starts North of Town on County Road P
Paving contractor prepared to pour cement on 4.49 miles of County Road P north of Stanton this week. Project cost 53315.75, adding an 18 ft wide pavement with five foot shoulders to create a safer all weather link to nearby towns in Montgomery County. Work base near Blair Botts farm at County Road P and Elliott-Grant Road, with about 20 dump trucks and a mobile mixer paver. Crews estimate laying about half a mile of single lane paving daily.
