Officer saves girl from blaze in Pottsville rescue
Lt. Michael Hrebik arrived to heavy smoke at 1108 W Arch and, using a kitchen table and chair, reached 11 year old Savannah Spiess trapped on the second floor. He assisted her to a window, caught her as she jumped about 15 feet, then helped her to an ambulance uninjured. Betty Spiess and three other children survived thanks to early smoke alarms.
