A private project named Inspiration Mars aims to send a married man and woman on a 16 month round trip to Mars with a private spacecraft. The plan calls for Jan 5 2018 launch and Aug 20 2018 Mars flyby, returning May 21 2019, with NASA not involved and costs estimated above 1 billion dollars.
