Hovercraft arrives to aid Flaming Gorge dam safety efforts
Flaming Gorge Reservoir receives an amphibious hovercraft from Washington state funded by a Homeland Security grant. Daggett County deputies expect touchdown at Lucerne Valley Marina near Manila, to aid winter dam access and ice rescue. The craft enhances rescue options amid the annual burbot fishing event offering up to 10000 dollars. The burbot, illegally introduced in 2006, has harmed other sport fish populations.
