The twelfth annual Texas Cowboy Reunion was scheduled for July 3, 4, and 5, 1941 with Thursday through Saturday dates to leverage the holiday weekend. W. G. Swenson reported the 1940 financials while the board re elected all current officers and directors including Swenson, Cooper, Coombes, R. M. Swenson, Hardy, Tayman, and Huston. Swenson was authorized to appoint committee chairs for next year.

Stamford Business and Professional Women’s Club hosted a morning coffee at the home economics cottage honoring visiting members from San Angelo Sweetwater Abilene and Stamford area clubs touring for District 5 fall convention events. The convention will be in San Angelo September 28 29 with talks by Nettie Simms Meta Meadows and Lola Gibson Deaton along with music and group photos. Coffee doughnuts and flowers framed the gathering.

Swenson Davis Takes Over as B&PW President

Upshaw to Remodel Colonial Home on Reynolds Street
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Upshaw Jr. have acquired the residence in the 500 block of East Reynolds street and are remodeling it for their home. E. D. Jones has the contract, with completion in about two months. The two story house will be restyled on Colonial plans facing Reynolds street, re-roofed, painted, and the interior rearranged and modernized.

Gerald Porter son of Mr and Mrs N D Porter of Stamford resigned from the Work Projects Administration to enter the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. He has served in Taylor Texas and Wilkinson County as area social worker and previously worked with W P A and state agencies in Austin.
