Stamford SHS Basketball Opens Season With Four Games
Stamford High School begins basketball with four games this week. Varsity boys host Sweetwater while girls travel to Knox City. Boys expect tough district slate starting December 12 against Wylie and December 15 against Anson. Tournaments include Anson, ACHS, Brownwood, and Key City events. City vows remedy soon as sewer woes rise at council

Centex Cable Vision won approval Friday for a 75 cent monthly rate increase raising standard service from 7.50 to 8.25. Lone Star Gas rate hike was tabled for Dec 1 after detailed discussion showing variable impacts on local bills and a possible minimum summer charge of 3 dollars.
