Delinting plant fire confined to small area
Firemen fought a stubborn blaze at Bronco Seed Co. Saturday night and confined the damage to a small area despite very low water pressure. The fire started around 9:30 p.m. in a lean-to attached to a wooden airplane hanger, with undelinted cotton seed stored inside. Fire Chief Bill Lawson attributed possible spontaneous combustion, and damage was estimated at 20,000 dollars. A Leeders Fire Department unit aided.

Brother Dies at Haskell in Care Home Funeral Held
Vince Furrh, 62, a retired Haskell chef and brother of LS. Furrh of Stamford died early Sunday in a Haskell care home. Funeral was held Monday at Haskell First Baptist Church with Dr Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial followed at Willow Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, three grandsons, two other brothers, and four sisters.
Clinic forms to give shots to Stamford children

Two Stamford Men Wounded in Griggs Cafe Affray
Two men were wounded in an affray Friday night at Griggs Cafe near the oil mill in Stamford. Richard Ike Johnson suffered wounds to the lung and neck, while Bobby Bailey was shot in the side.
