Meningitis Fatal To Fisher County Treasurer
Mrs. Leona McCrary aged 44 of Roby died of meningitis at Stamford Sanitarium after a short illness. She was serving her fifth term as Fisher County treasurer when stricken days ago. Survivors include two daughters and a son. Barrow Funeral Parlors of Stamford prepared the body for burial. Services were held at Roby.

Cotton Gins Run Full Time Again This Week
Over 8 000 bale cotton ginned here this season. Unford gins have been running full time again this week as favorable weather brings farmers to the fields to gather the crop. Bales were reaped and gins worked through Thursday noon. Since November 1 more than 3 000 bales have been ginned.
Will Rogers Memorial Fund drive progresses in Stamford
A $65 contribution from Capt. Ray G. Harris and Mrs Harris joined local gifts for the Will Rogers Memorial Fund in Stamford this week. Miss Bertha Schubert of Big Spring, formerly of Stamford, joined the Cowboys Will Rogers Memorial Fund Club. The drive ends November 27, with Stamford totals at $53 and contributions accepted at Swenson Land & Cattle, Stamford Inn, Stamford State Bank, First National Bank, and Stamford American.

Six year old Cordea Britton died after falling between cotton bales at the G S Smith Son gin yard. The child lived with her grandparents in Stamford and attended Reynolds Primary School. Burial was at Highland Cemetery with funeral services led by Pastor Sam Morris. Survivors include her mother Charlene and brothers Billy.

John Terrell Blake 77 of Jones County died at his home three miles east of Stamford Wednesday morning after a illness. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Church of Christ with John M. Rice officiating. Interment in Highland cemetery. He was born in Arkansas March 1, 1858 and would have observed his 49th wedding anniversary December 1. Survived by his widow and four daughters Mrs C R Carson Mrs Ken Young and others, plus sixteen grandchildren. Funeral parlor directed.
